What meld minimum means in Canasta and the common ladder used in Canaster: 30, 60, 90, 120, 150.

The meld minimum is the fewest points you need to put down cards for the first time in a deal, based on your current score.

Canaster uses this ladder: under 2000 → 30; under 4000 → 60; under 6000 → 90; under 8000 → 120; from 8000 → 150.

Seeing the meld on screen reduces arguments at the table and keeps the game moving.
